The J/24 World Championship 2024 is taking place at the Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle from 1-5 October 2024. The event kicked off with perfect sailing conditions during the practice race, with 56 teams from 11 nations enjoying sunny weather and 10 knots of wind. The event features innovative new GPS starting systems and self-propelled racecourse marks. Ken Workman, 5th generation Great-Grandson of Chief Seattle, welcomed participants to the championship.
Competitors include seasoned sailors and newcomers, vying for the top spot in the prestigious championship. Keep an eye on Mike Ingham and Travis Odenbach from Rochester, as well as local Seattle teams like Kurt Dammeier and Mike Goldfarb. The competition promises a mix of wind conditions and exciting races throughout the week.
