The Melges 24 European Championship 2024 in Split has reached its third day with exciting developments. The competition, organized by JK Split and the International Melges 24 Class Association (IM24CA), witnessed a change in leadership as challenging Jugo winds tested the sailors. Ante Cesic’s Razjaren from Croatia now holds the provisional lead.
Razjaren’s strong performances in tricky conditions pushed them ahead of early leaders Dark Horse from the USA and Altea from Italy. The Croatian team’s excellent starts and consistency have put them in a favorable position halfway through the championship.
Andrea Racchelli of Altea expressed delight at their strong performance, while Ivan Kljakovic Gašpic’s Universitas Nova sits in third place overall. The Corinthian standings are led by Ante Botica’s Mataran 24 from Croatia, followed by Miles Quinton’s Zhik Race Team from GBR and Michael Tarabochia’s White Room from GER.
Racing will continue with three more races on Thursday in similar conditions. Stay tuned for more updates on the Melges 24 European Championship 2024 in Split.
