As the America’s Cup racing kicks off in Barcelona, preparations for the 2024 Moth Worlds are in full swing.
The event is proudly sponsored by PredictWind, alongside a strong lineup of additional sponsors including MacKay Boats, North Sails, C-Tech, Zhik, UP Real Estate, Ze Build, Oceanbridge, WildLight, and Traffica.
Harold Bennett, Chairman of the Organising Committee, expressed gratitude for the commitment from all sponsors, stating, “We are eternally grateful for the sponsorship from all of the above companies supporting this high-profile event hosted by the Manly Sailing Club.”
With the initial deadline for entries set for October 1st, currently registrations are progressing, albeit slowly. Among the early entries are notable sailors such as Iain Jensen, a two-time Moth Worlds medallist and wing trimmer for INEOS Americas Cup, Phil Robertson, a five-time world match race champion, and American Magic team members Luca Calabrese, Riley Gibbs, and Ben Rosenberg.
Local contenders include Jake Pye, who led the 2023 event before it was abandoned, as well as Mattias Coutts and Seb Menzies, who finished 7th and 14th, respectively. A promising number of top-tier sailors are expected to enter before the upcoming deadline.
The Manly Sailing Club, located on the northern side of the Whangaparaoa Peninsula, offers a beautiful summer backdrop that ensures varied conditions for competitive and thrilling racing.
