2024 Noble Marine Albacore UK National and European Championships at Tynemouth Sailing Club

The Noble Marine Albacore UK National and European Championships 2024 were held at Tynemouth Sailing Club, with 21 Albacores participating in the picturesque setting. The event featured four days of well-organized sailing and social activities, with close racing across the fleet. The races took place in generally light winds in the North bay, providing a scenic backdrop of the historic Abbey and passing ships. Competitors enjoyed post-race pasta and hot showers, with added incentives like beers for the first boat to the windward mark.

Throughout the event, various races were held each day, with different winners emerging in varying wind conditions. Overall, Nathan Batchelor and Rob Holmes from Tynemouth SC emerged as the Noble Marine Albacore National Champions. Other notable performances included Judy and Paul Armstrong from Scaling Dam SC finishing in second place, and Michael McNamara and Colin Gardiner in third place. Allan Tyler and Richard Frost won the European Championship mini series.

The event concluded with an awards ceremony where the winners were recognized, and thanks were given to the organizers, sponsors, and volunteers who made the event possible. The Albacore Class expressed gratitude to all involved and highlighted the upcoming events in 2025, including the Nationals in Weymouth and the Internationals in Virginia, USA.
