2024 Noble Marine RS700 National Championship at Hayling Island Sailing Club

The Noble Marine RS700 National Championship 2024 at Hayling Island sailing Club – Day 2

Following on from yesterday’s thrilling racing, we all gathered for another day with uncertain weather conditions. After a brief postponement and some extra caffeine, we were finally out on the water with a steady breeze of 8-10 knots.

Race one saw Matt Carter take an early lead, with close competition throughout the fleet. The current champion, John Booth, showcased his skills and secured a third-place finish. The second race of the day started with slightly lighter winds, leading to some strategic sailing and close battles for positions.

Rob Higgins took the lead in the second race, but it was James Clark who crossed the finish line first, closely followed by Rob and Jack Grogan. The entire fleet demonstrated impressive skills and competitiveness, with good results all around.

As the day came to an end, the Race Officer made the wise decision to call it a day and send everyone back to shore for some well-deserved relaxation and refreshments. The competition is fierce, and there is still plenty of racing to go before the weekend wraps up.

Results so far can be found here.
