The 2024 PIC Coastal Classic saw Romanza claim line honours after a challenging race. Romanza, skippered by Dougall Love, crossed the finish line first, followed by Levity and Equilibrium. Smaller keelboats like Clockwork, Zephyrus, and Vixen also finished strong. Notable entrant Steinlager 2, ex-Sir Peter Blake’s Whitbread winning yacht, completed the race comfortably. After 24 hours, 28 boats had finished, 26 had retired, and 13 were still racing to beat the time limit. Conditions were tough but manageable for the sailors. The race, organized by the New Zealand Multihull Yacht Club, is a highlight on the sailing calendar. Explore more updates on the official PIC Coastal Classic website or social media.
