Trieste has been chosen as the host city for the 2025 Melges 24 World Championship. The event will take place from September 20-27, 2025, in this renowned sailing hub at the top of the Adriatic Sea.
The International Melges 24 Class Association (IM24CA) expressed excitement about Trieste being selected as the host city. Laura Grondin, the IM24CA Chair, extended gratitude to the Italian Melges 24 Class and Yacht Club Adriaco for winning the bid to host the championship.
Trieste, with its rich maritime history, is home to the famous Barcolana regatta and has a dynamic sailing scene. Marcello Caldonazzo Arvedi, President of the Melges 24 Italian Class, expressed gratitude for hosting the championship in Trieste. Nicolò de Manzini, President of Yacht Club Adriaco, also shared excitement about hosting the event in 2025.
This will be the first time the Melges 24 World Championship will be held in the Adriatic Sea, a milestone for the class. The city’s favorable wind conditions and strategic location make it an ideal location for the championship. Tentative dates for the pre-Worlds in Trieste are set for September 5-7, 2025.
