The second day of the Rolex Swan Cup in Porto Cervo saw challenging weather conditions, but the Race Committee managed to organize a coastal race for most classes. The ClubSwan 36 class completed a windward-leeward race, with one race abandoned due to unpredictable winds from a squall.
The coastal race course was adjusted for some divisions due to the weather, but the fleet set sail in 6-10 knot winds. Winners of the day included Swan 82 Kallima-Randstad, Swan 90 Freya, and other impressive performances across different classes.
Notable performances included the Swan 82 Kallima-Randstad team led by Paul Cayard, and the Swan 60 Sea Quill with young talent Maddalena Spanu on board. Crews faced shifting winds and rainstorms, making for an exciting race day.
After the races, crews enjoyed post-race refreshments and a rock concert by the Swan Bandits, showcasing the camaraderie of the event. Racing continues with windward-leeward races and a coastal course for different divisions.
Owners will gather for the Owner’s Dinner at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda‘s restaurant tomorrow evening. Stay updated on the event at www.yccs.it.
