The 79th edition of the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race is fast approaching, with only 75 days left until the start on December 26, 2024. The lineup for this year’s race is shaping up to be a star-studded one, with more entries expected before the registration deadline on October 25.
Among the new entrants are some familiar names from last year’s race, including LawConnect and Alive, the Line Honours and Overall winners, respectively. The competition is heating up as teams gear up for another exciting race to Hobart.
One of the notable entries is Grant Wharington and Adrian Seiffert’s Wild Thing 100, which underwent major modifications to extend it to 100 feet. With a new mast and various upgrades, the team is preparing for the race while managing the tight timeline for refitting the boat.
Another intriguing entry is the all-electric TP52 Ocean Crusaders J-Bird, skippered by Annika Thomson. The team’s commitment to sustainability sets them apart, with a diverse crew and a focus on balancing performance and comfort on the water.
Kraken III, co-skippered by Rob Gough and John Saul, is also making waves with its impressive track record and experience in Double Handed racing. With a history of strong performances, the duo is ready to take on the challenge of the Rolex Sydney Hobart once again.
