Sam Goodchild is gearing up for the Vendée Globe solo round-the-world race, fulfilling a life-long dream. Despite a setback earlier this year when his boat dismasted, he’s ahead of schedule with preparations on his IMOCA, VULNERABLE. With a new mast and sails, he’s ready for the challenge. Goodchild, the 2023 IMOCA Globe Series Champion, is enjoying the build-up as he fine-tunes his boat for the race. He’s taking advantage of weather strategy workshops to prepare for the race. This project holds special significance for him, as it’s something he’s been aiming for nearly 20 years. The next step is the Défi Azimut solo race where he’ll test himself and his boat. Goodchild is surrounded by a strong team at TR Racing, who have named their boats VULNERABLE as part of a unique communications mission. Goodchild is looking forward to the Vendée Globe start and sharing the project with supporters.
