Women’s World Match Racing Tour Denmark 2024: Dominant Victory on Home Soil

Danish skipper Camilla Ulrikkeholm and her team secured a home win at the Women’s World Match Racing Tour Denmark 2024. The event took place from September 5-8, 2024, at the Royal Danish Yacht Club in Rungsted Harbour, north of Copenhagen. The competition welcomed ten teams from 11 nations in hot September weather.

Ulrikkeholm, a former winner of multiple women’s world tour events, made a remarkable comeback to match racing with her crew of Sara Keir Wright, Line Mørfebjerg Fischer, Maria Juul, Louise Ulrikkeholm Bredvig, and Lærke Ilsø Nørgaard. They emerged victorious by defeating fellow Danish sailor Lea Vogelius in the final.

In addition to Ulrikkeholm and Vogelius, Australia’s Brooke Wilson finished third after winning the petit-final against Sweden’s Martina Carlsson. Carlsson, competing in only her second tour event, narrowly missed out on her first podium finish.

Following the Denmark event, the Women’s World Match Racing Tour will head to Bermuda for the final stage of the 2024 season, the Bermuda Women’s Trophy. The competition will run from October 29 to November 3, alongside the 72nd Bermuda Gold Cup.
