Highlighting Youth and Corinthian Sailors at the 2025 Etchells World Championship
The upcoming Etchells World Championship in Melbourne aims to promote amateur and youth participation within the class.
The Australian Etchells Fleet has introduced Club Corinthian to celebrate amateur and youth sailors who have a passion for competitive fleet racing. Supported by the HillPDA Sailing Team, a youth team is being prepared to increase participation not only at the upcoming World Championship but also within the class.
Club Corinthian, founded by Martin Hill, aims to promote youth sailing and encourage more Corinthian sailors to engage in club racing. The program intends to revive the spirit of Corinthian sailors who have historically excelled in international and club competitions.
This initiative provides coaching opportunities, team resources, and additional prizes throughout the season to support the efforts of amateur and youth sailors on a global stage.
The team’s dedication was recently demonstrated when they won first place in their class at the Mick Hole Regatta held in Pittwater. Their participation in the 2025 Etchells World Championships will showcase the dedication and involvement of youth and amateur sailors, inspiring the next generation of sailors worldwide.
