2024 Star World Championship hosted by San Diego Yacht Club



The 2024 Star World Championship at San Diego Yacht Club had another fantastic day on the water, with ideal conditions for racing. The 64-boat fleet enjoyed winds up to 12 knots, sunshine, and cooler air as they competed in Race Four of the Championship. The race started smoothly, with the fleet navigating the shifty course off Silver Strand in South San Diego.

Local favorites George Szabo and Guy Avellon had a challenging start but managed to recover and finish 11th, maintaining their position in the overall standings. The Cayard – Kleen team continued their winning streak with a third consecutive victory, showing skill and adaptability in the tricky conditions.
