Kinsale Dragon Gold Cup 2024: Overall Results and Winners



The Kinsale Dragon Gold Cup 2024 came to an exciting conclusion with Pedro Rebelo de Andrade, Jose Leitmann, and Jamie Lea emerging as the champions. After a close battle, Andrade clinched victory by just two points, with Peter Gilmour’s team taking the silver and Lawrie Smith’s team settling for bronze. In the Corinthian division, Cameron Good, Henry Kingston, and Sam Hunt secured the top spot.

The Nations Cup team event was also fiercely contested, with POR90 Easy/Michael Zankel, GER62 Dessert Holly/Stephan Link, and GER1075 Grace/Hannes Hollaender claiming victory. The event showcased thrilling competition and camaraderie among sailors from various nations.

Special awards were presented, including the Silver Cup for the top boat in the Silver Fleet, won by Denis Bergin sailing IRL161 Sir Ossis of the River. A new Classic Boat Trophy was introduced, with GBR192 Bluebottle emerging as the inaugural winner. The Dubarry Boot was awarded to the crew with a combined age of under 80 years, won by IRL22 Missfire.

The organizers and sponsors were praised for their contributions to the success of the event. The 2025 Dragon Gold Cup will be hosted by La Société des Régates de Douarnenez in August. The event promises to deliver more thrilling racing and memorable moments for sailors and spectators alike.
