The competition, aimed at supporting sailing and yacht clubs in the UK, received entries from over 60 clubs, highlighting the dedication and innovation within the sailing community. The winners were unveiled at a special ceremony during the boat show.

West Lancashire Yacht Club emerged as the overall winner, receiving a grand prize of £6,000. Yeadon sailing Club and Rudyard Lake sailing Club were named as the two runners-up, each securing £2,000. These prizes are intended to help the clubs enhance their facilities, develop new programs, and promote greater accessibility to sailing.

The judges were particularly impressed with West Lancashire Yacht Club’s innovative plans for grassroots sailing development, including the purchase of dinghies, safety equipment, and instructional materials. Yeadon sailing Club and Rudyard Lake sailing Club were also commended for their dedication and vision for improving accessibility to sailing within their communities.

Sunsail ambassador Dee Caffari praised the winners for their commitment to making sailing accessible and enjoyable for all, regardless of financial background.
