The second match saw Luna Rossa again chasing American Magic initially but taking the lead on the second upwind leg. Despite a close finish, Luna Rossa maintained control and finished 18 seconds ahead.
The crew of Luna Rossa, led by Jimmy Spithill and Francesco Bruni, showed strong performance in both races. The team consisted of trimmers Umberto Molineris and Andrea Tesei, cyclors Enrico Voltolini, Bruno Rosetti, and Cesare Gabbia, with Emanuele Liuzzi and Luca Kirwan alternating roles.
