Cat World Championships at Centro Velico Punta Ala: A Class Racing Event
The A Class Cat World Championships recently concluded at Centro Velico Punta Ala in Tuscany. The event saw over 180 boats competing in challenging conditions. The reigning champion, Kuba Surowiec from Poland, showcased his skills in the Open Foilers category, dominating the competition with impressive speed and tactics. On the Classics side, Emmanuel Le Chapalier emerged victorious amid strong winds, with Gustavo Doreste Blanco claiming the title of World Classic Champion. Despite some challenges, the event was well-organized by the PuntAla resort, with lessons learned for future improvements. The next Worlds will take place at the Milford cruising Club in Auckland, New Zealand in November 2025.
