The Noble Marine RS700 National Championship 2024 at Hayling Island sailing Club – Day 3

The fleet arrived at the club to be greeted by mirror flat water and wall to wall sunshine. Despite sore heads from the previous day’s social activities, the race officer called for launch and start, with a light 7-10 knot Southerly breeze providing perfect racing conditions.

In Race Two, the breeze picked up, and Rob Higgins made a bold move on the tight reach to secure the win. The competition remained fierce, with close racing throughout the fleet.

Race Three saw a steady 15-knot breeze, with Sam Caslin dominating the pin end. Despite some mishaps from top sailors, the race unfolded smoothly with Rob Higgins securing the overall championship with a day to spare.

Results after Day 3:

1st – Rob Higgins (Chew Valley Lake SC)
2nd – Matt Carter (Lancing SC)
3rd – James Clark (Chew Valley Lake SC)
4th – Robbie Bell (Snettisham Beach SC)
5th – Jack Grogan (WMYC/Dabchicks)

Day four awaits with a light forecast and two races scheduled.
