Circolo Vela Torbole on Lake Garda has been chosen to host the first-ever J/70 Mixed Plus World Championship in 2025. The event will take place from June 26-29, 2025, bringing together teams from around the world for exciting competition.
The J/70 Class Rules specify that a Mixed Plus team must consist of four or more members, with no more than two males over 18 years old. This rule was introduced to encourage more female participation and create opportunities for families and young sailors to compete together.
The flexibility of the Mixed Plus format has sparked interest among boat owners, who are exploring different crew combinations to be competitive in this unique event. The goal is to showcase family-oriented crews and increase female representation in sailing.
Federico Siragna, President of the J/70 Italian Class, and Vittorio Di Mauro, President of the J/70 International Class, express their excitement for the upcoming championship and the opportunities it offers for sailors of all demographics and abilities.
