Manly16s Season Pointscore Ranking: A Comprehensive Overview

Manly 16s sailing Club recently held the first point-score race of the season, highlighting the strength of emerging sailors from its junior program. Many top finishers in the race had previously excelled in the Flying 11 ranks, showcasing the success of the club’s youth development initiatives.

The club’s junior program has a long history of nurturing talented sailors, with a strong winning culture that has translated into success in senior classes. Junior sailors receive extensive coaching and support, setting them up for future achievements in sailing.

At the recent race, Moonen Yachts secured the top position, followed by promising young skippers like IMEI and Davis Marine Brokerage. The success of these newcomers demonstrates the depth of talent in the junior fleet.

Transitioning from 13s to 16s can be challenging due to the high level of competition in the older fleet. However, the junior sailors are well-prepared in terms of race strategy and tactics, thanks to their experience in the junior classes.

The junior program’s effectiveness is evident in the progress of young sailors like Coby Napper, who is now competing in the 16s category. The program provides excellent coaching and plenty of on-water experience, fostering healthy competition and attracting new talent to the club.

In the 13s division, Harken led the fleet, followed by Cybertech and Buck & Simple. These results showcase the depth of talent and potential within the junior ranks.
