First-Day Racing With North-Easterly Breeze

The 22nd Rolex Swan Cup began with ideal racing conditions, allowing the Nautor Swan fleet to complete all scheduled races. The day started with a northeasterly wind blowing from 12 to 18 knots, prompting the Race Committee to delay the start due to potential gusty winds. The various race courses set for different divisions kept the fleet busy with exciting battles and frequent sail changes.

Winners of the day included Swan 80 Umiko, Swan 90 Freya, Swan 60 Sea Quill, Swan 65 Marlin II, and more. Crews were pleased with their performance, setting a positive tone for the upcoming races. Racing resumed with windward-leeward races for the Swan One Design classes, showcasing the skills of the participants in gusty winds and choppy seas.

Looking ahead, the competition will continue with a coastal race for all classes. The forecast predicts lighter winds and shifting directions, adding to the tactical challenges for the competitors.
