The third day of racing at the 22nd Rolex Swan Cup saw a north-easterly wind of 7-10 knots, allowing the competition to start on schedule at 12 noon CEST. All planned races were completed, with the Swan fleet competing in various classes.
The Swan One Design classes had a windward-leeward race course, including the debut of the new ClubSwan 28 class boats. Other classes sailed on coastal courses, with the Division A Swan Maxi covering 21 miles and the rest covering 18 miles.
The winners of today’s races included boats such as Swan 80 Umiko, Swan 90 Freya, and Swan 60 Sea Quill. Freya continued her winning streak in Division A Swan Maxi, while Sea Quill dominated the Swan Mini Maxi class.
The ClubSwan classes also had successful races, with boats like Anya Race, Fra Martina, and Canopo claiming victories. Owners will enjoy the Owner’s Dinner at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda tonight, followed by the Rolex Dinner Party tomorrow evening.
Racing will continue tomorrow with windward-leeward courses for some classes and coastal races for others. The forecast is for a light north-easterly of 7-10 knots.
