Ibiza JoySail Day 3
The third day of the Ibiza JoySail superyacht event at Marina Ibiza saw racing being cancelled due to storm warnings. However, the festive spirit was kept alive onshore with a table football competition among the teams.
Adverse weather conditions led to the cancellation of races for the day, but crews engaged in friendly competition to make up for it. The Race Committee made the decision in light of storm warnings and high wind speeds in the region.
Despite the lack of racing, the teams enjoyed a day of camaraderie, with a table football championship won by Team Viento! Race Director Nacho Postigo expressed disappointment at the cancellation but looked forward to better conditions for the final day of racing.
The event not only focuses on on-water activities but also offers a mix of onshore entertainment, including brunch with stunning views of Ibiza’s old town. The relaxed atmosphere and blend of competition and social events have been well-received by participants.
With a significant number of Corinthian entries, Ibiza JoySail emphasizes inclusivity and a welcoming environment for all sailors. The event has attracted both seasoned professionals and first-time participants, adding to the diversity of the competition.
While onshore activities kept the crews occupied, preparations for the final day of racing were underway. Crews took advantage of the break to attend to boat maintenance and enjoy the hospitality provided by the event organizers.
