sailing Chandlery RS200 Northern Tour at Red Wharf Bay sailing and Watersports Club

On the 7th September, the Northern RS200 tour visited Red Wharf Bay sailing and Watersports Club on the Isle of Anglesey. The club, located on the east coast of Anglesey, provided a picturesque setting with stunning views of Snowdonia.

Eight boats, including six visitors and two local boats, enjoyed ideal sailing conditions with sun, wind, and waves. The 8kt breeze created a decent swell for exciting sailing without making launching and recovery difficult.

Race 1 saw competitive start lines and tight, tactical racing with multiple place changes. Rebecca Knock and Millie Greenham dominated the race with excellent boat handling and wave mastery. In Race 2, Alex and Martha Taylor showed great pace but missed the upwind gate, allowing Gareth and Jen Williams to take the win.

After a delicious lunch, the fleet launched into Race 3 with turning tides. Alistair and Helen Norris led from start to finish, making the most of local knowledge. Race 4 was the decider, with Alex and Martha Taylor clinching the win.

Overall Results:
1. Alistair Norris & Helen Norris
2. Gareth Williams & Jen Williams
3. Rebecca Knock & Millie Greenham
4. Martin Smith & Barbara Smith
5. Alex Taylor & Martha Taylor
6. Caroline Exley & Dave Exley
7. Millie Hayfield & Lauren Marsh
8. Tom Ellis & John Ransom

The RS200 Northern Tour’s sea venue expansion at RWBSWC showcased thrilling racing and friendly competition.
