Hadron H2 Solent Trophy 2024 at Warsash sailing Club
5-6 October 2024
Over the weekend of 5-6 October, Warsash sailing Club hosted the annual H2 event for the Solent Trophy. The event was the final event of the H2 season and also decided the new Travellers Trophy series.
The weather provided challenging conditions with strong winds on Saturday and rain on Sunday. Despite the conditions, top helms participated in the event.
Richard Leftley and Richard Le Mare were the standout performers in the event, with Leftley clinching the victory by winning all three races on Sunday. Steve Hendon also performed consistently throughout the event.
The results highlighted the impact of crew weight in singlehander dinghy fleets, with varying winners’ weights affecting performance in different conditions.
Overall, Richard Leftley secured the victory in both the Travellers Trophy and the Solent Trophy, with Richard Le Mare finishing a close second.
