Barcolana Parasailing: Second day of racing

Today marked the second day of Parasailing in the Barcolana and Barcolana per il Sociale, with a record number of participants. Young sailors from various associations arrived at the Società Triestina della Vela, each with their own story and ready to race towards inclusion. Notable figures like Giovanni Soldini, Ambrogio Beccaria, and Caterina Banti also made an appearance to support Emergency’s causes and activities during the event.

EMERGENCY AND THE OLYMPIC AND OCEANIC sailing CHAMPIONS – Emergency will participate in the Barcolana 56 with the project ‘A sail for EMERGENCY’ on Ancilla Domini, Andrea and Elisabetta Illy’s boat. Alongside sailing champions like Caterina Banti and Giovanni Soldini, a public meeting is scheduled to take place at the Teatro Miela.

FOLLOW ME – Students from the Nautical Technical Institute participated in the Follow Me project to work on the field during the Barcolana. They will be managing moorings for over 600 boats along the dock of Trieste.

INCLUSION: BEST PRACTICES – A conference on inclusivity highlighted ways to improve inclusion in water sports, especially in the Paralympics. Various speakers shared their experiences and initiatives towards creating an inclusive environment in sports.

SOLARIS YACHTS AND FONDAZIONE AQUILEIA – Solaris Yachts and Fondazione Aquileia are collaborating to enhance the maritime and cultural heritage of the local area. Fondazione Aquileia is presenting multimedia content at the event, promoting local excellence and historical identity.

BARCOLANA PER IL SOCIALE – The Barcolana per il Sociale featured regattas of the FIV’s Parasailing Academy and traditional cups, with a record number of participants competing from all over the region. Inclusion and competition were key themes of the event, showcasing positive energies and support for athletes with disabilities.
