The Merlin Rocket Felucca Trophy was recently held at Hollingworth Lake sailing Club on October 12-13, 2024, with 16 boats participating in the event. The annual competition featured exciting races and strong competition among the sailors.

The first day saw challenging wind conditions and close races, with Alex Jackson and Pippa Kilsby taking an early lead in Race 1. Matt Biggs and Beka Jones also put on a strong performance, resulting in an exciting battle for the top positions.

Race 2 introduced a different course and saw Stuart Bates and Lydia Bourne leading the fleet. Despite some challenges, Matt and Beka secured a race win, with Alex and Pippa close behind.

After a break for lunch, two more races were held in increasing breeze conditions. Matt and Beka continued their winning streak in Race 3, followed by Alex and Pippa. Race 4 saw some confusion among boats at the first mark, but Matt and Beka emerged victorious once again.

The event concluded with Matt and Beka claiming the overall victory, followed by Alex and Pippa in second place and James and Anna in third. The competition also saw winners in the gold, silver, and bronze fleets.

The competitors enjoyed the hospitality of Hollingworth Lake sailing Club and the well-organized event. The next event in the Craftinsure Silver Tiller series will be held at Stone sailing Club on October 26th. Overall, it was a successful and thrilling competition for all involved.
