The Netley RS100 Club Championship 2024 took place on October 19th, 2024, attracting 20 boats and four visiting sailors to the renowned RS100 sailing hub at Netley. The event consisted of five fast-paced races skillfully organized by Andy and Melissa Chapman.
Competitors displayed varying levels of skill, with two former national champions in attendance. Nigel Wakefield emerged victorious, while Dave Smart claimed second place despite claiming to have no grasp of tides. Third place went to Bart Bridgen, followed by Nick Sandison in fourth and James Ross in fifth.
The prize-giving ceremony took an unconventional turn, with prizes awarded to the most spectacular capsizes. The post-race festivities included beer and curry, ensuring a fun and memorable conclusion to the event.
