The Multihull Cup will once again celebrate the dynamic world of performance catamaran and trimaran sailing when its sixth edition kicks off in just a month’s time.

This thrilling event will take place over three days, from 27th to 29th September, at Port Adriano’s exclusive marina, located along Mallorca’s stunning southwest coast. This picturesque setting provides an ideal backdrop for exhilarating on-the-water action.

Organizers are excited to welcome back two previous winners of the Multihull Cup. The 84-foot Nigel Irens-designed Flyer, Allegra, who claimed victory in 2021, will be present, along with the MC60 Dragon, returning from Australia with hopes of repeating her triumph from 2019.

Regrettably, the 2022 champion, Coco de Mer, will not participate this year due to a delay in her refurbishment. However, Highland Fling 18, an impressive 80-foot custom VPLP design maxi-multihull, will join the fleet in 2024, looking to continue her stellar performance since her launch last year.

The competition will be intense as Highland Fling 18 and Allegra competed fiercely against each other during last year’s Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, with Adrian Keller’s Swiss multihull narrowly claiming victory in that encounter. They will face off again at the 2024 Rolex Cup in early September, setting up for a thrilling rematch shortly thereafter at the Multihull Cup.

“The competition is shaping up to be quite exciting with friendly rivalries set to unfold,” stated Multihull Cup Event Director Andrea Grimm. “The racing conditions in this part of Mallorca consistently provide a fantastic playing field, and Port Adriano will undoubtedly prove to be an outstanding host for the event.”

The charming Coast by East venue in Port Adriano will be the hub for onshore activities, with North Sails and Rigging Projects stepping up as valued sponsors.

Following registration on Thursday, 26 September, racing will commence on Friday and continue through Sunday, culminating in a celebratory prize-giving ceremony on the final day.
