Forecast for Race Day 5:
Tuesday, September 3rd: A high-level trough with cold air in the upper atmosphere will lead to unstable weather over Barcelona in the coming days. Mid-day might see a chance of showers, but the afternoon is expected to be dry and cloudy. Wind forecasts are uncertain, with most models predicting a weak Easterly wind of 4 to 7 knots, while a few high-resolution models see the possibility of winds ranging from 8 to 12 knots, coming from the East-North-East. The sea state will likely remain calm, with land temperatures peaking at around 28°C and 26°C over the water.
Wednesday, September 4th: We expect deteriorating weather with rain and the possibility of heavy rain and thunderstorms. A strong Northerly wind affecting the Mediterranean will weaken before reaching Barcelona, producing waves nearing 1 meter with a 4-second period on the racecourse. In the afternoon, wind forecasts remain uncertain, with anticipated North-East winds averaging 5 to 10 knots but potentially stronger under convective cells.
