Carey Olsen Jersey Regatta Approaching Fast

Scheduled for Friday to Sunday, September 13th to 15th, the Island’s combined clubs’ Carey Olsen Jersey Regatta will transform St Aubin’s Bay into a vibrant and exciting venue for the 26th edition of this celebrated sailing event.
Alex Ohlsson, chairman of the Carey Olsen group, expresses pride in continuing their support as fifth-time sponsors of this flagship event, anticipating three days of competition and camaraderie among local and visiting boats.
Since its inception, Jersey Marinas has provided invaluable assistance, including free berthing, to ensure a memorable experience for participants.
The event will kick off with a welcoming reception on Thursday evening, followed by racing on Friday morning, featuring cruiser, Quarter Ton, and sportsboat classes in a warm-up coastal race. The dayboat, dinghy, and sport catamaran classes will take the stage that afternoon. The IRC classes will compete in the 11th edition of the GBR IRC Channel Islands Championship (www.rorcrating.com) on Saturday and Sunday, with prizes generously donated by Spinlock. Regatta chairman Bill Harris shares enthusiasm for another fantastic event, emphasizing the enjoyment of hosting visiting competitors, thanks to strong support from Carey Olsen.
As each racing day concludes, a lively social program awaits competitors and volunteers, fostering camaraderie and a warm welcome in the clubs. Local sailors and organizers are eager to meet visiting boats and especially look forward to welcoming first-time competitors.
