The 17th Puig Vela Clàssica Regatta concluded its most spectacular edition, solidifying its reputation as a global benchmark in classic sailing. This year showcased 77 boats with over 800 sailors, leaving a significant mark on both the competition and classic sailing history in Spain.

The event coincided with the America’s Cup in the scenic waters of the Catalan coast, resulting in breathtaking visuals that captivated both professionals and sailing enthusiasts. A highlight of the regatta was the presence of the 12M class boats, legendary contenders from the America’s Cup during the 70s and 80s. For the first time in history, these iconic vessels, alongside the 15M, Class-P, and other classic categories, came together in one event, providing an unprecedented showcase in the realm of classic sailing.

The XVII Puig Vela Clàssica Barcelona Regatta is recognized as an international event that holds a place in the official RFEV calendar. The regatta also contributes to the II International CIM Championship (International Mediterranean Committee) and the XIII Mare Nostrum Trophy, which is known as the Spanish Cup of Classic Boats.
