Alinghi Red Bull Racing Ready to Compete at the Louis Vuitton Cup

Alinghi Red Bull Racing is gearing up for the prestigious Louis Vuitton Cup as part of the 37th America’s Cup. After a 14-year hiatus from competing for sailing’s most coveted trophy, the team is now ready to showcase their skills after years of preparation and training.

The Louis Vuitton Cup begins this Thursday, consisting of three stages where all six participating teams will compete to secure a chance to challenge the Defender, Emirates Team New Zealand. During last week’s preliminary regatta, which marked the first time the AC75s raced, Alinghi Red Bull Racing displayed aggressive and coordinated tactics, successfully gaining advantages in several races. “Last week we finally got some real-life opportunities against the top match racers in the world to learn and assess our position,” stated Silvio Arrivabene, the team’s Co-General Manager. The results of their pre-start training were evident, with the crew achieving excellent starts.

In the days leading up to the competition, the team has focused on enhancing their boat speed, refining their design decisions, and optimizing boat handling to ensure BoatOne operates at peak performance. Skipper Arnaud Psarofaghis expressed confidence in their capabilities, saying, “We know we have a boat that can win races and a crew that can sail well. Finally, we are fighting for real, and the crew is eager for more competition. We’re excited to start racing.”

Arrivabene emphasized the competitiveness among the teams, stating, “Last week showed that all the teams are in the game, and we’re ready for some thrilling racing.” Alinghi Red Bull Racing will face the French Challenger in their first Louis Vuitton Cup match on Thursday, 29th August, as they aim for success in this prestigious event.
