Aspen to Sponsor Bermuda Women’s Match Racing Regatta, Skippers Announced
Aspen has been announced as the title sponsor of the inaugural Aspen Bermuda Women’s Match Racing regatta, to be held alongside the 71st Bermuda Gold Cup from 29 October to 3 November in Hamilton Harbour. This event will feature top female sailors from around the world, including world rank #2 Anna Östling and defending Women’s World Match Racing Tour champion Pauline Courtois. The regatta will offer a prize purse of USD 40,000, the highest on the women’s tour in 2024.
The event is a significant step towards promoting women in sailing and fostering camaraderie among female sailors. Leading speciality insurer Aspen is proud to sponsor the regatta, supporting women in sport and promoting equity and inclusivity. The 71st Bermuda Gold Cup will also take place over the same six days, featuring top open match racing sailors vying for the historic King Edward VII Gold Cup. Defending champion Johnie Berntsson, world rank #1 Chris Poole, and 2022 Match Racing World Champion Nick Egnot-Johnson are among the confirmed skippers for this prestigious event.
