Athena Pathway Makes a Splash on Day 1 of UniCredit Youth America’s Cup
The UniCredit Youth America’s Cup started its third edition in Barcelona with light winds causing delays before the fleet hit the race course. Athena Pathway, the British youth team supported by Cobham-Ultra, faced a slow start as dock-off was postponed due to light winds. The team stayed productive by reviewing video with their head coach, Chris Draper. The first race finally kicked off, with Athena Pathway managing a solid start but dropping back to fourth place due to challenges in the sea state. The wind increased to 16 knots during the race, causing difficulties for all teams. Athena Pathway finished in third place in race two and overall in Group A standings. Tomorrow, the team will continue in Group A with Races 3 and 4 starting at 10:30 CEST.
