DF95 Autumn Series event 2 at East Kent Radio sailing Club
Under grey skies and rain, normal service was resumed at Kent’s Isle of Sheppey with Dave Adams returning to form and winning race 1. Adrian Tomlison replied with a win in race 2, and the battle continued with shifty winds helping six different skippers reach the podium.
Mike Brand switched sails, but struggled to find form until race 17, while Alan Hounsell hit the podium three times. Spencer Pope was the most consistent sailor, consistently placing between fourth and seventh.
Despite a few mistakes, Peter Jackson managed to score two bullets and five second places. The competition heated up as Dave Adams and Peter shared the last seven wins, with Dave ultimately taking the event from Adrian by just 2 points.
The Autumn series is now wide open for the next event at Ashford’s Conningbrook Lakes venue after a break for weed. Results: 1. Dave Adams 2. Adrian Tomlinson 3. Peter Jackson 4. Mike Brand 5. Alan Hounsell 6. Spencer Pope 7. Rob Maunder 8. Ralph Wilkinson
