Barcolana Nuota Trofeo Giustolisi held a record-breaking event on 6 October 2024, with participants from Italy, Slovenia, and Austria swimming a nautical mile in front of Piazza Unità. The race, organized in partnership with Triestina Nuoto Samer & Co. Shipping, saw Italian swimmer Pasquale Sanzullo and Giulia Salin emerge as winners. President Mitja Gialuz and event manager Stefania Pirozzi expressed satisfaction with the event, which also featured the Barcolana Pinnata for athletes with disabilities and the Barcolana Beach Sprint in Lignano. The Barcolana Young and Barcolana Waterpolo added to the festivities, making it a truly memorable day. Various on-land activities and exhibitions also enriched the experience for participants and spectators.
