The BPI Private Wealth Signature Yacht Race Series 2024-25 has officially launched its second season with an Awards Gala celebrating the accomplishments of the first season. The series aims to promote sustainable tourism, raise awareness about marine conservation, and grow the local sailing community in the Philippines.
The 2024-2025 race calendar includes events such as BPI Corregidor Cup, BPI Busuanga Cup, BPI Boracay 200, and BPI Subic regatta. These races will further establish the Philippines as a prime destination for world-class sailing.
The winners of the first season were recognized, with Jun Villanueva of Belatrix emerging as the overall series champion. Various yacht categories saw fierce competition, showcasing the skill and passion of the participants.
BPI Wealth President, Maria Theresa Marcial, emphasized the importance of the series in promoting marine conservation efforts. An investment fund supporting marine conservation advocacies will be launched to further drive these initiatives.
The series is organized in collaboration with various sailing organizations, aiming to shape the future of sailing while supporting sustainable practices. WWF Philippines also highlighted the significance of the initiative in preserving the country’s Marine biodiversity.
