Andy Brown and Matt Barton of Great Britain achieved double success at the iQFOiL European Championships in Cagliari, Sardinia. They secured silver and bronze medals after a tough competition against Poland’s Pawel Tarnowski in the final race. Despite challenging light winds, Tarnowski emerged victorious, while Brown claimed silver and Barton took bronze.
Brown’s achievement marks a career highlight, following his previous victory at the 2022 Princess Sofia regatta. Barton, on the other hand, made a comeback to the podium after finishing as runner-up at the iQFOiL World Championships in 2021. Both sailors expressed their joy and satisfaction with their performance at the event.
Additionally, the British sailing Team’s Finn Hawkins finished in seventh place overall, with Duncan Monaghan coming in 12th, marking his best senior fleet result. In the women’s fleet, Islay Watson secured tenth place, while Alice Read finished in 15th place.
