The 35.9-metre luxury yacht Opus II is currently undergoing a refit at KRM Yacht’s facilities in Istanbul, Turkey. The refurbishment is expected to be completed within 18 months and will include exterior and interior redesign by Red yacht design.
The goal of the refit is to update the classic Heesen yacht with modern technology while still maintaining its historical charm. Some of the planned enhancements include a new swimming pool extension on the transom, a redesigned flybridge with a Jacuzzi and sunbathing area, and an increase in guest cabin numbers from three to five.
Additionally, the interior areas will be restructured to enlarge the cabin portholes and improve overall comfort. Other improvements will involve a new hardtop, hull and superstructure repaint, a redesigned engine room, and the replacement of all electrical systems.
Originally delivered in 1997, Opus II was designed by Francesco Paszkowski and Evan K. Marshall for the exterior and interior, respectively. The yacht can accommodate up to six guests in three suites and six crew members.
KRM Yacht’s managing director, Kerem Başer, emphasized the benefits of rebuilding classic yachts, stating that it is a sustainable and cost-effective solution for clients. By combining modern technology with traditional craftsmanship, KRM Yacht aims to enhance the performance of classic yachts while preserving their historical value and significance.
Opus II is not the only yacht undergoing a refit at KRM Yacht, as the 43.4-metre Costa Magna and the 31.1-metre Just4Us are also being refurbished alongside it.
