Just two months away from the start of the highly anticipated Vendée Globe solo round-the-world race, where 40 skippers from 10 countries will take on the ultimate challenge of sailing non-stop unassisted around the globe.

The Vendée Globe has a rich history of showcasing remarkable stories of seamanship, bravery, and solo racing prowess over the last 25 years. This year’s race, the 10th edition since its inception, is set to be exceptional with the largest fleet ever seen, filling the harbor at Les Sables d’Olonne.

Among the competitors are previous winners Yannick Bestaven and Charlie Dalin, along with 13 new boats equipped with the latest foil designs. The diversity of the fleet includes sailors from China, Japan, Hungary, the USA, and other countries, promising a truly global competition.

With the race attracting top talent and cutting-edge technology, the competition is expected to be fierce. The current race record is likely to be challenged by the leading foilers, who have pushed the boundaries of speed and reliability in their quest for victory.

The Vendée Globe is not just a race, but a 70 to 100-day adventure filled with success and challenges for the skippers, their teams, and families. The upcoming weeks will see final preparations being made before the start, with teams also participating in the Défi Azimut-Lorient Agglomération regatta as a buildup to the main event.
