DF95 M&S District Travellers Trophy at Gosport Model Yacht and Boat Club
A cool morning with bright sunshine and a fickle wind from the North greeted the 24 skippers who had travelled to Gosport for the open event. After a slow start, the wind picked up, making racing fair and competitive. Skippers from various clubs showcased their skills, with Dave Adams eventually clinching the top spot with consistent performances.
The event was well-organized, with Paul Edwards as the Principal Race Officer, ensuring smooth sailing throughout the day. Participants enjoyed the challenging conditions, with a patch of underwater weed causing some excitement during one of the races. The atmosphere was friendly, and prizes were awarded to the top performers, including engraved glass tumblers and other goodies.
The next event in the series is scheduled for the 7th of November at East Kent Radio sailing club. Overall, it was a successful day of racing, with skippers and race crew alike enjoying the competition and camaraderie at Gosport MYBC.
