DMG MORI Sailing Team constructs new IMOCA race boat
DMG MORI sailing Team is excited to announce the construction of a new IMOCA 60 race boat with plans to compete in The Ocean Race 2027 and Vendée Globe 2028. The new boat, designed for performance and durability in challenging ocean conditions, is being built in collaboration with naval architect Guillaume Verdier and construction partner Multiplast. The team is currently preparing for Vendée Globe 2024 while looking ahead to future races. The innovative boat design will incorporate the latest advancements in aerodynamics and hydrodynamics, utilizing lightweight materials for optimal performance. The launch of the new boat is scheduled for early 2026, showcasing the team’s long-term commitment to offshore sailing. By participating in The Ocean Race 2027, the team aims to promote cultural diversity and intergenerational exchange in offshore racing. Established in 2018, DMG MORI sailing Team, led by Skipper Kojiro Shiraishi, has successfully competed in Vendée Globe 2020. The team also operates the DMG MORI sailing Academy to nurture young talent in offshore sailing.
