The yachting Malta Coastal Race, hosted by the Royal Malta Yacht Club, provided an exhilarating conclusion on 16th October 2024, with 56 yachts competing in ideal racing conditions.
The race commenced at 09:30 CEST, covering a 19 nautical mile course to a mark off Munxar Point. The Maxi 72 Balthasar claimed Line Honours and victory in IRC Class 2. The overall winner was X-Day, narrowly edging out Jedi to secure first place on IRC time correction.
Maltese boats also battled fiercely, with Elusive 2 emerging as the top Maltese yacht, winning IRC Class 4. In the Class40 division, Centrakor took first place, followed by Lucente and Influence 2.
The race showcased a diverse fleet sailing along Malta’s scenic coastlines and natural wonders. The Prize Giving ceremony will take place during the Rolex Middle Sea Race Owners’ Reception.
Excitement is mounting for the upcoming 45th edition of the Rolex Middle Sea Race, set to start on the 19th of October from Valletta’s Grand Harbour.
