Belgian Flying Fifteen Championship 2024
5-6 October 2024
The Belgian Flying Fifteen Championship took place at the SNEH SC on the Plate Taille lake. Due to Belgian elections, the event was moved forward by a week, leading to some clubs being unable to participate. However, the Liège fleet joined the SNEH fleet for the championship.
On the first day, the lack of wind postponed the races, allowing participants to enjoy the sunshine and Belgian beers. The next day, with better wind conditions, the race committee quickly set up courses for multiple races.
The competition was intense, with different tactics employed by the crews on the open course. After five races, the podium was dominated by BEL3915, BEL3885, and BEL3742. The Equinox Trophy went to the all-female crew of Gasc – Lepère (BEL3191).
The championship ended with a prize-giving ceremony on the club’s terrace, where participants were treated to beers sponsored by the event. Overall, it was a successful event with competitive racing and camaraderie among the participants.
