The GOAT Marine SW Topper Traveller round 8 took place at Plymouth Youth Sailing on September 8, 2024. Despite challenges from the World Power Boat championship happening simultaneously, 37 boats completed four races in tricky conditions.
The day started with a briefing to ensure sailor safety amidst the restricted sailing area. After a 2-hour postponement due to the wind, the races finally began. Harry Mills and Thomas Semmens dominated the first two races, with other sailors like Daniel Cullen and Edward Lee showing strong performances.
Race 3 and 4 saw increasing winds and new sailors achieving their best results of the day. Eventually, the top positions went to Harry Mills, Thomas Semmens, Harry MacLeod, Charlie Mackenzie, and Charlotte Moyes.
A big thank you to all involved in organizing the event and to GOAT Marine for sponsoring. It was a challenging but successful day of racing at Plymouth Youth Sailing.
