Ibiza JoySail Exceeds Expectations and Ends Mediterranean Superyacht Season in Style

The fourth edition of Ibiza JoySail was a resounding success, exceeding expectations and wrapping up the Mediterranean superyacht season in style. This year saw a record number of entries with eighteen superyachts participating, including the largest superyacht ever to take part in the event. The racing was intense across all five classes, with over half of the fleet sailing in Corinthian mode, adding to the competitive yet relaxed atmosphere of the event.

One standout participant was Maximus, a 195ft German Frers twin-masted ketch, which made its debut at Ibiza JoySail. The team praised the event for its spectacular setting and fantastic parties, expressing their desire to return next year. Other notable victories included Morgana and Moat in the Performance class, as well as L’Hippocampe in the World cruising L class and Bliss in the World cruising XL class.

The emphasis on Corinthian spirit was evident throughout the event, with seven out of fifteen podium places going to Corinthian entries. Participants praised the well-organized and enjoyable nature of the event, highlighting the perfect balance between competitive racing and social activities. The closing ceremony included a prize-giving event and the presentation of a Perpetual Trophy for a record passage between Punta Cala Figuera, Mallorca, and Tagomago Island, Ibiza.

Ibiza JoySail would not have been possible without the support of its partners and institutions, including North Sails, RigPro, Global yachting Ibiza, Yacht Moving, and local councils. The success of this year’s event has set the stage for the fifth edition of Ibiza JoySail in 2025, scheduled for 18th – 21st September. With its growing popularity and reputation, Ibiza JoySail continues to be a must-attend event for superyacht enthusiasts and sailors alike.
