Ideal conditions and flawless Maxi results at Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez



More perfect conditions and perfect Maxi scorelines were seen at Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez during the International Maxi Association’s 2024 Mediterranean Maxi Inshore Challenge. The leaders in all four classes maintained their flawless track record after two days of racing.

The race committee organized coastal races for Maxi C and D, while Maxi A and B competed in windward-leeward courses. The starts took place from the Bay de Pampelonne, with the courses set in the Golfe de Saint-Tropez. The coastal races featured close competition between the defending champion, Wally 60 Wallyño, and Vismara 62 Yoru in Maxi C, while Maxi D saw Six Jaguar and Blue Oyster battling it out.

In the windward-leeward races for Maxi A and B, Jolt and Lyra continued their dominant performances, securing victories in both races. Jolt faced challenges with electronic and hydraulic issues but managed to triumph. Geist also impressed in Maxi B, showcasing improved performance after keel and rudder upgrades.

Despite some technical hiccups, the Maxi fleet showcased thrilling racing with notable victories and intense competition. Layday is scheduled for tomorrow, with racing set to resume on Thursday at Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez.
