INEOS Britannia advances to the Louis Vuitton Cup Final
INEOS Britannia has secured a spot in the Louis Vuitton Cup Final after winning five races against Alinghi Red Bull Racing. The team will face Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli or New York Yacht Club American Magic in the first-to-seven series starting on 26 September.
Team Principal and Skipper Ben Ainslie expressed relief at securing their spot in the Final, praising their hard work and the competition from Alinghi. Despite losing the first race of the day, INEOS Britannia bounced back in the second race to seal the win and end Alinghi’s America’s Cup journey.
In challenging light conditions, the British team put up a strong fight against Alinghi. While facing setbacks in the first race, they strategized well in the second race to secure victory. The Final will be a tough competition, with the first team to win seven races advancing to challenge Defender Emirates Team New Zealand in the America’s Cup Match.
