Middle Harbour Yacht Club and Manly Yacht Club have jointly announced a Combined Clubs Sunday Series that will commence on September 8 and run until April.

Both clubs are combining their race management expertise and resources to organize the series, which consists of eleven races spread over seven race days. The series will include a mix of passage races and windward-leeward sprints, with three sprint races scheduled for each sprint day.

All races will be scored using ORC, IRC, and PHS for Division 1, while Division 2 will be scored on ORC and PHS.

The competition is expected to be strong, with a diverse range of classes anticipated to participate, including a number of 40-foot yachts.

Two Beneteau 40.7s, Neil Padden’s Wailea and Graeme and Chris Lee’s Farr N Away, are set to challenge Mondo, the CYCA Winter Series-winning Sydney 38 owned by Lisa Callaghan and Stephen Teudt, alongside Rob Carr and Stephanie Cook’s King 40 Jambo.

Additionally, Greg Wilkins and Jan Bartel’s Archambault 32, Esprit, is a well-sailed contender, and Kia Kaha, the Young 88 sailed by Julian McPherson and Andrew Watts, is expected to be competitive.

The J/24 class will also be well represented, with Innamincka (John Crawford), Kaotic (Catherine Rofe), and Ace (David West) already in the lineup.

Both clubs are eager for this new series to foster camaraderie among the Middle Harbour and Manly fleets, as well as invite competitors from other clubs for exciting Sunday afternoon racing.
